Software/Firmware Design Engineer
Our Client, A dynamic Startup based in Galway, are seeking a Software/firmware Design Engineer to join their team. This role is fully onsite and the successful candidate must be based or willing to relocate to Galway.
Please note: This is a 15 month fixed term contract with a high potential to be made permanent
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Working with stakeholders to define & document hardware & software requirements
Write, test, and refine software to meet design requirements
Integrate and debug software / electronic interfaces
Preparing and reviewing test protocols for design testing
Problem solving test failures or product issues
Preparing design documentation
Develop early-stage prototypes for review key stakeholders
Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations of new technologies
2 Years software / electronics design experience (Graduates will be also be considered)
Knowledge of device communication via serial interfaces (e.g. UART, SPI, I2C)
Basic knowledge of digital electronics
A qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or similar
Theoretical engineering knowledge in signal theory, analogue and digital electronics, high frequency electronics, mathematics, electronic manufacturing techniques
Nice to have:
Experience in a medical device or similarly regulated environment
C/C++ language experience
Low-level software / firmware development experience
Prior experience of writing documentation to support your software/firmware design
Experience in small teams or startup environments
