Your work 

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer at IQIP, you are responsible for overseeing the mechanical design of complex offshore equipment. You lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, ensuring innovative and reliable solutions are developed in line with project requirements. You work closely with the production, service, and offshore teams to bring designs into reality. In addition, you collaborate with our sales and tender departments to make sure client needs are well understood and technically translated. You are actively involved in both the conceptual phase and the technical detailing, while mentoring and supporting your team. 

Your Responsibilities: 

• Lead the mechanical design process for large-scale offshore and foundation equipment 

• Translate client demands into creative and feasible engineering solutions 

• Develop and review 3D CAD models and 2D production drawings 

• Coordinate project activities with internal teams (engineering, production, service) and external stakeholders 

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers 

• Collaborate with sales and tender teams to align project proposals with client expectations 

• Participate in field visits and offshore operations to validate performance and gather feedback 

• Continuously improve design processes and contribute to innovation within the department 

Your profile 

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar 

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams or complex technical projects 

• Strong conceptual and creative design skills 

• Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks or Inventor) 

• Hands-on mentality with a practical approach to engineering challenges 

• Communicative, proactive, and team-oriented 

• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus) 

• Willing to travel occasionally for offshore operations or project support 

Our offer: 

• Monthly salary depending on level and expertise. (CAO Metalektro) 

• 8% holiday allowance, paid annually 

• 27 paid annual leave days + 13 additional days
